If you read our blog yesterday, you undoubtedly are on pins and needles waiting to see the five additional cars in Part 2.
(If you didn’t read it, you can go back here to catch up.)
We referenced eight online compilations of the “hottest,” “most anticipated,” “most significant” vehicles for 2014, providing links to the five most useful lists. Yesterday’s list comprised the BMW i3;Cadillac ELR; Chevrolet Impala, Silverado and Corvette Stingray, and the Ford B-Max.
These, along with the five below, have excited the imaginations of industry-watchers. While the lists aren’t all the same, about a dozen vehicles rate mentions on two or more compilations.
Those are the cars and trucks on which we focused when we went looking the top 2014 models.
Our list of 11 cars with more than one mention is presented in alphabetical order, wrapping up today. They are (with abbreviated reviewer remarks):
Fiat 500X
Known for its pintsized hatchbacks, Fiat is now branching out into the compact SUV market with the Fiat 500X. Expect to hear a lot of buzz developing around the 500X.
Infiniti Q50
One of the innovators in the luxury performance segment will get a full refresh this summer, when the 2014 Infiniti Q50 takes center stage.
Jaguar F-Type
The Internet is gaga for the 2014 Jaguar F-Type. Roughly ninety-nine percent of the F-Type commentary we’ve seen has been something to this effect: “OMG it’s beautiful I want one.” … Let’s hope it’s as good to drive as the online peanut gallery thinks it looks.
Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG
Mercedes has created an all-wheel drive monster, raising the bar when it comes to bang for your buck. BMW and Audi will have some catching up to do.
Toyota Corolla
While the new version of the most popular compact car in America will remain mostly the same, with an emphasis on value and fuel economy but sporting a far more dynamic design.
“There are plenty of new cars to choose from every year, but how many are truly significant? In reality, most ‘new’ vehicles are just updated versions of last year’s models,” said autotrader.com. “But then there are those cars that really grab our attention, raise the bar, remind us why we love cars and change our perceptions.”
