The most wonderful time of the year.
Ask a number of people what this phrase means to them and you’re bound to get different answers. For many it means the holiday season has arrived. To others, it can be when school is back in session (parents). And to others, it’s when school is out for the summer (students).
For the college football fan, it equates to a new season being finally underway. And if you fall into this category, then this weekend surely kicks off the most wonderful time of the year.
To support the celebration, this Saturday, September 3, has been declared National Tailgating Day. Makes sense considering college football and the ritual of gathering in a parking lot outside a stadium, with friends and food to make merry before and after the game, has become the preferred way to embrace game day.
With this weekend’s Week 1 involving several big games – Alabama versus USC at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas; Oklahoma visiting Houston at NRG Stadium; LSU traveling to Wisconsin to meet in Lambeau Field; Georgia hosting North Carolina in the Georgia Dome and two Tiger teams (Clemson and Auburn) facing off, to name a few – the tailgating, celebrating and competition is sure to be at a fever pitch.
