Fall is the season of picture-perfect vistas, pumpkins and fairs. And in Texas, one of the main draws at the State Fair, currently taking place in Dallas, is the car show, where trucks in particular get plenty of attention.
The 2017 Lone Star Silver Edition is the latest special edition to “bust out of the Ram corral,” writes Andrew Wendler of Car and Driver, and made its debut at this year’s State Fair. It’s based on the Ram 1500 Lone Star, which is currently the automaker’s best-selling truck in Texas, and is “essentially a cosmetic treatment.” Outside, the additions include the likes of a new grille with chrome surround and mesh inserts, and a Lone Star badge in the corner, 20-inch polished wheels, front tow hooks, chrome side-view mirrors and side-steps. On the inside, new cloth and vinyl high-back bucket seats, in two-tone colors, also tell you you’re in a Lone Star Silver Edition.

“In pictures: The flashiest exotic cars at the Paris Motor Show,” The Globe and Mail
It’s a bit different than the state fair (fewer corny dogs, for one thing) but the Paris Motor Show, also underway, is showcasing plenty of flash automobiles. The Globe and Mail brings us some of the flashiest exotic cars in pictures. They include the “wild concept” Renault Trezor, an all-electric vehicle with hexagonal flaps that rise to cool its batteries, and a roof that raises entirely for access. Others include the long-awaited LaFerrari Aperta, and a blacked-out, high-performance Honda Civic Type R Prototype.
